EMBODIED
RITUALS
Ritualizing Combat Through Care

This section explores how martial arts train, discipline, and sometimes weaponize the body—not to glorify violence, but to understand how embodied ritual can transform pain into purpose.
Across Taekwondo, Capoeira, Muay Thai, and Kalari, the body becomes a vessel of knowledge. Strain becomes strength; repetition becomes remembrance. In these traditions, physical training is inseparable from spiritual cultivation.
Through workshops, writings, and multimedia documentation, Martial Medicine investigates how movement embodies health, strength, and defense, and how martial discipline becomes a language for healing, protection, and community identity.
